I have read so many good reviews about Deco’s Lapaz bacthoy thus I’ve been longing to taste it but the branches are located outside Manila. Thats why I was so glad to see that it has a branch at Alphaland Southgate Mall in Pasaong Tamo Extension.

Special Lapaz Batchoy with big pieces of chicharon yummm and its for only 67 pesos…sarap!

We also had….

Pre-war Pandesal. I wonder why its called that way :)
Anyhow, this pandesal is small compared with the regular pandesal but it’s compact filling. For 3.50 pesos per piece, its worth it.

Aside from pre war pandesal they also offer pan de sal ni Pa-a and puto manapla. I’ll try them on my next visit. :)

Oh by the way they give extra bowl of caldo with your order of lapaz batchoy :)

Namit gid!!!!

For those who don’t want to try out the extreme activities at Tree top adventure. you can pick the canopy ride. It’s a 45 minutes to an hour ride. In here, you will be travelling across station (platforms) riding a set of 3 seater that is lifted as high as 100ft above ground.

I took a shot of a family going down from 100ft to 80ft

In each stations there are people from tree top that will assist you to transfer from another set of seats. They will also give you some information about the place, the owner and stories about the monkey called vernel, then we found out that vernel is not a monkey but a guide too. They were just joking about it hahaha.

The entire ride was really awesome and relaxing though my SIL find it a bit boring in some part. There are 10 stations by the way. The speed isnt that fast but is at a mindfully slow speed which is  enough for us to enjoy nature.

Off we go for the first leg. HUbz the photographer here as I am scared that the camera might fall.

In each stations you can read informations on what tree the platform is attahced and how high the platforms is.

look Im not scared though Im 70ft high. :)

The superman ride, the trekking and canopy ride was the package we picked for 600 per pax. There are also other package available. The other exciting rides are silver surfer, tree drop adventure and free fall. Will try these other rides when we will visit Subic again.

Treetop Adventure: Trekking January 14, 2010

It’s a 45minute to an hour serene walk at wilderness. I marveled the beautiful virgin rainforest of Subic.

I experienced drinking water from a bamboo. The water taste really fresh.

Our trekking guide also showed us how to make fire out of bamboo

In a few minutes… there you go….

Manong was able to lit a fire from a bamboo. Galing di ba?

There are lots of huge trees with enormous roots. We didn’t forget to take our group photo here. :)

Trekking was fun but it made me tired that I wanted to sleep in bed, actually I didnt noticed that I had a short nap (in a sitting position) while waiting for my turn to try the canopy ride but it’s so rewarding to see the priceless sights of the lovely nature. :)

Up next my canopy ride experience!

I was then at awe to enter SCTEX for the 2nd time, this time  going to SUBIC.

The ride was smooth, scenic and just perfect.

then there seemingly endless stretch of wide road lined with luscious green and fresh air.

It’s was really a fab experience to pass through a highway that was carved beautifully and It is amazing how the road cuts through some hills to keep it as level as possible.

We left Sucat  around 6:00am, we arrived Subic around 9:00am. That was  a quick drive. Thanks to SCTEX and the husband (who drove for us) ofcoure. :)

I look forward to seeing what 2010 will bring me. It’s gonna be a long road to travel. I won’t be naive  to think that there won’t be any hard times  but then again I’m learning to sail my own ship. I learned that I’m more than tough enough to survive. It’s a great feeling to know that I’m capable of handling whatever life throws my way. So I’m so ready….bring it on 2010.

See yah more in life’s journey this year!

Our life in 2009 December 31, 2009

2009 has been a very fruitful year.

-It was early 2009 that our dept was affected by the recession. As a result, our team was eradicated and my trip to the US was cancelled but I got a US multiple visa. Its not easy getting a US visa so I count that as a blessing. :)

-In May just before our 6th wedding anniversary, another blessing came, we were able to replace our old car with a van. It’s a dream come true for my husband. He really wanted a big vehicle to accommodate our family during out of town trips. :)

-Mid of 2009, Husband’s 11 year old nephew underwent a crucial operation. With God’s mighty caring, the operation went well. Thank God.

-Then in October, my sister got married. The whole clan was so happy. You see my sister was a bit pihikan. So its my parents dream to find the right partner for her. Now she is in Singapore but will come back this coming January. :)

-In November, I decided to resigned. I got bored with my job. I thought that my career was not growing. Then that time, some friends asked me to share my baking goodies with them. Some ordered for their weddings, for their birthday, others are for their Christmas give-aways. So while I was jobless, I was busy baking stuffs.
Then after few weeks, a job offer came. A pretty good job offer. So last December 14 was my first day at work. This new job planned to send me in a foreign country sometime soon.

I was analyzing everything. It was all in perfect timing. Grabe Im so amazed with everything. Thank you dear Lord for everything

Just an exuberant joy that finally,I have managed paella! So please forgive me while I say…whopeee!!! (exag no?)

The road to paella wasnt that easy for me since no one in the family knew how to cook it. I just get contented on the paella I ordered at restaurant. Great thing there are recipes, informations and youtube videos that can be found on the internet.

My paella is not that perfect yet but I am willing to make it again to able to master the recipe. Yebah!

C’mon lets eat!

Buen apetito!

Why???
Because it’s so addicting.

Then a friend gave this as a Christmas gift. Imagine she gave me 3 packs of this loacker wafer cookies. :)
I only eat a few pieces at a time and I needed every single bit of will power to stop eating them. hahaha!

These bite size, dark chocolate wafer cookies are just delish, it melts in your mouth. Buti na lang it’s Christmas. I can eat sinfully! :)

What have you been eating lately? Did you gain weight na ba? Ako kaso oo lolz!
Enjoy the rest of 2009!

Christmas Celebration December 26, 2009

Chocolates, slippers, keychains, sarong, shirts, pants, kikay accessories are all from friends and relatives and my favorite… the pink laptop bag from hubz are the Christmas gifts I received. I didnt expect anything (except kay hubz syempre, hehehe) but look, I got so much. I am so blessed to have such wonderful friends and relatives and a sweet husband of course.

How’s your Christmas?

We’ll the husband and I spend our eve at my parents house. Had Noche Buena and gift giving as what we do yearly. Though my sister is in Singapore, we celebrated it with her and his husband through the internet, thank goodness for the technology.
Then on Christmas day, we visited the in-laws and we decided to enjoy the evening in Nuvali at laguna.
NUVALI, has a 1700 hectare property of the Yulo family that is being developed by Ayala Land Inc. They have a wonderful vision of making the place a business, commercial and residential community that promotes green and healthy living where nature and technology meet.

It’s a nice place. Great for family bonding. You could go boating, you can feed the fishes (mga koi ata yun), you can dine or had coffee or just walk around the place. So if ever your in Laguna, do check this place out. :)

So thats it. A blast Christmas celebration.
How was yours?
