HK – Day 2 (Ocean Park and more)

This continues our second day in Hongkong.

 ♥ ♥ ♥

From  the  Peak Tram Terminal, we walked down to Admiral Bus Terminal. We bought our tickets there for HKD 280 and took Bus 629 going to Ocean Park.

Be sure to get some Ocean Park’s map at the entrance for easy navigation of the theme park.

Had we known that the park is huge, more than we thought, we should gone earlier.

By the way the park is divided into two parts: The waterfront (lowland) and the summit (headland). Since we entered the waterfront part, we first visit the Great Oceanarium. Honestly, I was quite disappointed with the giant aquarium; I was expecting a larger one. I did not enjoy my stay inside the oceanarium and besides, there were really lots of peaople and I wasn’t able to explore the whole place  :-(

Then after that  we headed straight to Giant Panda Habitat.

We wanted to see famous panda bear named ‘An-An’ . To bad, An-An was sleeping during our visit but we saw another panda (I forgot her name though)

So adorable, right?

We got tired of waiting for An-an, so we decided to go the summit.  We went there via ocean express summit station

the Ocean Express funicular train can shuttle guests between the Park’s two main lands in just 4 minutes.  The train runs through a tunnel that was created by excavating 71,300 square meters of earth and is 1.3 kilometers in length.  Really amazing. I must admit in terms of transportation and engineering napapahanga ako ng hongkong.

Reaching the summit, we tried the rotating tower…

at first, I thought it was scary up there but it’s not.  Actually it was more relaxing because you can see the nice view of ocean park.

There were lots of rides to pick like the roller coaster but we were scared to death to try hahaha. Side kwento: I tried roller coaster thrice pa lang in my entire life. twice sa Zyklon loop ng Star City and the other one is in disneyland (Kwento ko next) :-) .

We didn’t see the dolphin show, we got less time kasi and beside meron na nun sa atin sa Subic.

So we took photo opps from here to there. Pose here pose there. Until we got tired and decided to go back sa waterfront, this time, we  tried the cable car naman.

The cable car transport visitors from the Waterfront to the Summit or vise versa, 205 metres above sea level. An 8-minute ride offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, sea and the Park. No neat pictures…It was my first time to try a cable car ride…I was scared  kasi hahaha….

Oh di ba….kung makahawak parang ayaw na bumitiw, hahahaha

We left Ocean Park at around 6.30pm. We hurriedly went back to TST to witness “A Symphony of Lights.” The show is organised by the Hong Kong Tourism Board and displayed every night at 8pm Hong Kong Time. This attraction is really amazing and best of all it’s for free. Kaya when your in HK, dont forget to see this. I wasn’t able to get a photo….na lowbat na kasi ako….sigh…but I still got my ipod and captured the video :-)

So…It was a tiring 2nd day at Hongkong. Well, I must admit, there are some point of our tour na I got bored like sa ocenarium and some part sa ocean park, the cable car ride was fun though and the Madame Tussads experience was incomparable but then again fun or no fun, I am still blessed to experience all this. Thank You Lord sa blessing  :-)

Up next…experience the magic!
