Watermark my Photos

I dont really put watermarks on photos I share here and in my other blog. I believe that it’s tacky and besides I am no professional photographer so I dont have to  worry on my  photos being stolen but I was wrong.

It happened to me thrice. I somehow let pass the two incidents but the third one which for me was too much…..somebody  used my photo in her blog entry  and place her own site name on my original photo.

I emailed that person, telling her that I am mad for what she did.  Told her to remove the said photo in that blog entry.  She responded and remove it  but it is still uploaded in her blog account. I googled to check. I emailed her again to totally remove it. Up to now, she has not perform any action on my email. sigh! Just irritating.

These people simply don’t care about the rights of content creators. Its just a matter of being respectful to others property.

So from now on whether my photos are worthy or not, I will put my watermarks. Its my craft and I will protect it from unauthorized use online.

  1. i used to watermark my photos but now i’m so lazy.

i just hope and pray that when someone uses my photo, they’d at least credit me :)

  2. Hello everyone. For those who asked pano ko nalaman.

Aksident lang, I google for a recipe of soup/sopas then ayun na lumabas na isa isa yung mga pics then I saw a familiar photo….yung nga yung photo ko then na shock ako kasi sa iba sya naka host hindi sa site ko.

  3. hi sis! how did you know na she used your pic? and sino ba to ha? gusto mo sampalin ko? hahahaha!! pinapatawa lang kita sis :P

  4. I have been putting tags/watermarks in all my photos but just late last year, I saw another photo of mine in a hostel website. 4th time na! Partida, hindi pa ako pro nyan ha. Grabe lang.

Good job in putting watermarks on your photos. Bad job for those who stole your works. Kakahiya sila.

  5. that was bad! sana man lang the person who used your photos ask permission from you. ano na nga ba tawag doon? oh yeah, stealing! LOL!

on the contrary, it’s so flattering when someone borrows your photo and credits you in return which is but proper.

    enjoy your weekend, jeanny!

  6. hayyyyy, minsan talaga, may taong ang hirap ispelingin.

  7. well, using others’ photos is one thing, but taking it as your own, that’s lame!!!

  10. tama yan sis. dapat nga lagyan mo na ng watermarks mga pictures mo.

medyo na guilty tuloy ako kasi madalas ako gumamit ng pictures ng iba pero i make sure na meron akong link kung saan sya galing.

  11. you’ll really never know when somebody will steal your photos. kahit may watermark na napapatungan pa din.

some people have no respect talaga at sila pa ang matapang.

  12. yan nga gawin mo jeanny!

but how do you know when someone is using your photo? takot tuloy ako.

  13. just curious jeanny, how did you find out? just wann aknow if my pics are being used without me knowing. di rin kasi ako nagwawatermark e, tamad ako =)

  14. that’s not very nice. i hope she complies soon.

i’m not using any watermark on my blog photos. i’m now thinking of doing that.

  15. Happened to me, too. I have been blogging since mid of 2007 and only in 2009 I’ve started putting watermark. I thought sense of respect as a basic rule would be sufficient. But apparently, it’s not.
