Comfort Food

They are foods that soothe the psyche by reminding us of comforting childhood memories .

Tocino was a favorite childhood dish. Mom love preparing this because, it was easy to prepare and my appetite likes it. hahaha!

Tocino and fried Rice. I cooked the rice on the same pan where I cooked the Tocino. Do you do that too?

Tocino is similar to ham and bacon. It’s a native here in the Philippines. It is a red sweet pork dish that we love dipping in vinegar. I like mine with sliced  tomatoes and fish sauce. Hmmm Yummy!

Since it’s a holiday here in the Philippines this coming Wednesday, I’ll try to make my own tocino (keeping my fingers crossed). You see I am staying away from preservatives as much as I could.  Trying to eat healthy sometimes hehehe. So for now, I’ll enjoy the one I bought at the supermarket. :)

Ah comfort food…what’s your favorite comfort food by the way?
