A native candy from the Philippines
Sundot-kulangot which literally means “poke the booger.” but nah it’s not booger you’ll find inside. It’s actually a sticky kind of sweet made from milled glutinous rice flour mixed with molasses, and served inside pitugo shells, and with a stick to “poke” its sticky substance with.
I wonder why they called it that way? Pwede naman sundot calamay hahahha!!!!

Ah very nostalgic! Pero my dad convinced me that real snot was inside that thing. I was 5 years old so I guess I’ll believe everything.
No offense meant but this is what my MIL calls those candies – kulangot ng intsik. That’s how they called it when they were kids.

I tried that few years back. Pasalubong ng officemate. Like Mordsith. Kulangot ng Intsik din yung tawag niya dyan. =)
i don’t know if it’s just within the family, but we call it Kulangot ng Intsik. hehe. I don’t know how it evolved into that.
wahahaha! trying to get the goodies from those small containers was a challenge, but fun! i remember when i was little, one of my cousins actually convinced me they were real boogeys ;-( ewww!
hehehe. noong una akong binigyan nyan ng officemate ko, natawa talaga ako ng sabihin nyang sundot-kulangot. kala ko kasi niloloko lang ako. weird ang name! pero masarap sya in fairness.
I think I saw a Jessica Soho show where they said that Sundot Kulangot isn’t actually made in Baguio but from nearby provinces. Weird huh?
