Sense and Sensibility

Elinor, the reserve and sensible daughter of the Dashwood. She became attached to Mr. Edward Ferrars the brother in-law of his half brother John. Elinor learns that Edward has been engaged for some time, secretly and unhappily to a young woman named Lucy Steele. She learns this from Lucy herself, who was aware of Elinor’s interest though pretending not to be, opted Elinor as her special confidante.

Marianne, the middle sister was the more affectionate one. An expressive lady who never was afraid of showing others how she cares for Mr. Willoughby, a dashing gentleman that Marianne meet when she accidentally sprain her ankle. From that scenario, Marianne falls for the handsome gent but in the middle part of their blooming relationship he left her for a financially favorable match. The dismay and heartbreak, brought Marianne into a menacing situation.

At the end part of the story Lucy Steele abandons Edward for his richer brother Robert. Edward married Elinor. Marianne marries Colonel Brandon, the reserve man who truly loves her.
~oOo~

Comparing the two sisters, Elinor has this strong personality. When she found out that Edward was engaged with Lucy, she still kept her composure and clearly understood that he first meet Lucy before her. Even in difficult situations she was able to control her feelings. To be honest if I were in her situation I would freak out..hahahaha
Mariane, on the other hand was more on the showy side. She was quite loveabale but tends to get carried away easily with her emotions. She only sees what she wants and totally ignore what she careless. She can be on top of the world when inlove and too low when hurt. Hmmmm….I am somewhat like her…lolz.
The sisters reacts to their romantic happiness and misfortunes, and the lessons they learned before coming finally to the must happy ending creates the soul of the novel.

How about you….are you Elinor or Marianne?
