Look closely….can you guess what this is?

By looking at it, you may speculate that it’s something like breaded pork or breaded fish fillet.
But it’s not!!!!
Actually it’s fried breaded tofu or tofu furai. It’s another fun way to eat tofu. As we all know, this white piece of block taste bland, that’s why most people dont like it but with the right ingredient and spices, the simple bland tofu can be a vey delicious treat.
Oh back to the furai (I almost forgot), I first tasted this at a japanese resto and I’ve been wanting to cook it at home. So few weeks ago, I googled the net to look for the right recipe. I was so fortunate that I found the perfect one for my furai. I was even lucky because I not only found a tofu furai recipe but a whole lot more tofu recipes. How cool is that!? So I am adding this online book to my favorites.
Now if you love to try the recipe you can check it here.

Hey sis Jeanny,
hehehe. over the years i’ve gotten intothe japanese habit of eating a block of tofu with a bit of soy sauce with lunch. its one of the cheap buys at the cafeteria anyway
i guess i’ve gotten used to the blandness. hahaha!
I love love love tofu. I can even eat the white ones, either just blanched or fried. I’ll try this nga. Wait, saang Jap resto mo ito na-order?
Thanks for the great idea
I’m trying to cut the amount of meat in my diet and tofu is a great substitute! mmmm looks delish!

Hi Jeanny, kindly ‘claim’ your award here: http://witsandnuts.com/2009/01/21/in-case-you-havent-figured-out/
Can you tell me how you made this? My daughter is a vegetarian and I’ve never had any luck making tofu… she still eats my creations but they really aren’t any good
HELP ME TOFU GODDESS!!!
I like tofu, kahit unong luto. Heehee. Thanks for sharing that online book.
looks yummy. good food for those who avoid to eat pork
i did not try tofu yet but i want to try because one chinese friend told me that nutritious and good also for kids.
Jeanny, ang tofu at tokwa ba the same lang? Hindi rin kasi ako kumakain ng tofu but people are convincing me. It’s healthier daw than real pork or beef?
I don’t really eat tofu but if I did, then this way is probably the way I’d like it best! It looks good!
