What!!!! I can’t believe that Becky Bloomwood will be an American. So what will happen to her bloody accent. She should be played by a british actress and should be shot in London as what the book said. Have they added Confessions and Takes Manhattan together. Oh boy.
I truly hope they do justice on the big screen!!

book is always better than the film but the point is when a movie based on a book why not copy everything written in the book na lang di ba? hehe, anyway i have’nt read any of the book series i guess i wont be disappointed that much when i watch the film like in twilight
yikes, i think it’s a bit disappointing too! i’m a big shopaholic fan and you’re right, she’s not the becky that i have been imagining all along too. but that’s what they do with the movies. even p.s. i love you has the american theme going on when it should be all-irish. ah well.
happy new year sistah, i wish you all the best for 2009!
I am a huge fan of this series. I have all the Shopaholic books. Admittedly, I was utterly disappointed when I learned that Rebecca Bloomwood will be played by an Australian girl and the story was made “Americanized”. I believe the producers of this movie didn’t realize that this the Shopaholic series was written by a British woman thus having British humor, not to mention UK Fashion sense as well as British culture. I can’t say I was happy with Sophie Kinsella’s decision to have her lovely British novel be turned into an American film.
It was similar to the movie adaptation of Memoirs of a Geisha with a Taiwanese actress playing the role of a Japanese woman.
I’ve never heard of this before but it looks funny. I will have to hunt the book down. I hate it when they change things from the books too, like accents and hair colors and stuff. I don’t see why they couldn’t have the main character be more true to the book.
